Welcome New MiOTA Member - Bill Iacovacci!

Welcome Bill!

Hello, I am William Iacovacci and I graduated from Baker College in Allen Park Michigan in 2015, and currently work for HCR ManorCare in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After researching possible career choices, I found the field of Occupational Therapy. This field drew my attention for a few reasons. One being the fact that according to my research the field had a bright future. Upon further investigation into exactly what Occupational Therapy Assistants do it was my belief that my personality as well as some of the skills acquired in my previous career would transition nicely into Occupational Therapy. The fact that my interactions and treatment sessions would assist individuals in achieving independence in daily tasks which are truly important to each patient was the main purpose for choosing this field.
I became a member of MIOTA for several reasons as well. One being that it is a great being that it is a wonderful way to advocate for my field. Being a member allows me to support our representatives during legislative hearings so that public policy promotes core values and the need for occupational therapy. Another reason being that through reading and attending MIOTA meetings it allows be to gain knowledge which allows me to grow professional. My professional growth will assist me in providing the safest and best therapy sessions possible for my patients.in order to gain optimal functional gains.
