Friends of OT in MI PAC


The Friends of OT in Michigan PAC is a voluntary, nonprofit, nonpartisan
Political Action Committee of members from the Michigan Occupational
Therapy Association. It was reactivated on June 30th, 2014. Since then, Friends
of OT in MI PAC has raised more than $12,000 through member donations and
made more than $9,300 in political contributions to state legislators who are
supportive of OT in Michigan.


Purpose of the Friends of OT in Michigan PAC:
To raise funds to donate to the election campaign of legislators at the state level
who are supportive of  the profession of occupational therapy.


  • Support the profession of OT in Michigan
  • Increase the awareness of and support for OT among legislators

Ways to Get Involved in the PAC: 

  • Volunteer on the PAC Committee and the Advocacy committee
  • Participate in the MiOTA Conference Silent Auction by donating items (in kind donation) and bidding to raise funds.
  • Provide financial donations throughout the year. Any MiOTA member can donate, including students!


Activities over the past year, 2025:
In 2025 the MiOTA Fall Conference was in Troy at the Summerset Inn. The
Silent Auction had donations of 11 items and raised $749. Special thanks to
Jane Yatczak who donated her skill at reading Tarot Cards and gave all
donations for readings to the PAC!


Our members’ generosity allowed the PAC to work with the MiOTA Advocacy
committee and our lobbyist to identify legislators who are supportive of OT.
$1750.00 in contributions were made by the Friends of OT in Michigan PAC
over the past year to these legislators:

  • State Representative Julie Rodgers
  • State Representative Doug Wozniak
  • State Senator Kevin Hertel


The Friends of OT in Michigan PAC will sponsor their Silent Auction at the Fall
Conference at The Bavarian inn in Frankenmuth on October 1 – 3, 2026. Please
bring an item to auction to support the important work of the Advocacy
Committee of MiOTA.
