Assumes full responsibility for evaluating patients'' need for Occupational Therapy. Plans and executes individual treatment programs in accordance with the laws and regulations of the State of Michigan. Keeps treatment skills updated through continuing education, research, and program development.

Preferred Qualifications: graduated of an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited Occupational Therapy program; successful completion of the Occupational Therapy Registration Examination; registered with the State of Michigan; current certification by AOTA; possesses and maintains CPR certification; and the physical ability to lift, position, and transport patients with physical impairments. Preferred Qualifications: active participation in AOTA, MiOTA, or Western Michigan District Occupational Therapy Association and work experience and continuing education in the area of seating and assistive technology.

Provides patient care: 
  -- Evaluates patient condition; focusing on postural support and functional equipment needs.
  -- Provides documentation for medical equipment and order the appropriate equipment as necessary.
  -- Consults with technical staff during construction process, providing therapeutic guidance.
  -- Evaluate equipment upon delivery and instructs patient, patient's family, and health care workers on its use.

Must be able to work in a team setting.
Must be willing to travel in our mobile unit to provide evaluations and trainings throughout West Michigan.

Easter Seals Michigan is seeking a full time Occupational Therapist for our West Michigan Therapy Center in Grand Rapids.  This is a full time position working with 85% with our pediatric clients. Monthly monitoring of consumer’s occupational therapy programs.  Complete written monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual reports.  Complete annual assessments of each assigned consumer.  Submit completed reports to program support staff.  Attend continuing education seminars and in-services as appropriate.  Maintain occupational therapy program schedule.  Provision of quality care through professional knowledge and skill.  Maintain compliance with all accreditation and registration standards.  Perform job duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable Safety and Health policies and procedures.  Use person-centered planning practices and follow related procedures during client assessments.  Attend person-centered planning meetings when possible.
