Michigan Occupational Therapy Association

Hearing on Rules

Dear MiOTA Colleagues,

There will be a hearing on proposed administration rules for Occupational Therapy Licensure in Lansing Friday, September 30th, 2016.  Proposed changes include:

  • Changes to supervision of clinicians and non-licensed staff
  • The addition of human trafficking continuing education component
  • CEU requirement
  • Provisions related to application for licensure and re-licensure

MiOTA will be present at the hearing and submitting comment regarding proposed changes.  We would like to ask for members to review and return their comments to us.  By gathering the comments of Occupational Therapy Practitioners across the state and across many practice areas, we will be able to form a thorough stance on comments and concerns we can present at the hearing.  We would ask you to please provide comments to us by emailing: office@miota.org no later than Wednesday, September 21st.

Please take the time to review the documents at: http://w3.lara.state.mi.us/orr/Files/ORR/1530_2015-029LR_orr-draft.pdf and http://w3.lara.state.mi.us/orr/Rules.aspx?type=Number&id=R+338.1191
