SAGE Training DVDs

A high percentage of patients seen by occupational therapists are 65 or older. In addition to OT needs, many of these patients face serious issues affecting their mental health, such as depression, caregiving difficulties, medication side effects and substance abuse. The SAGE program is an eight-disc training set, produced through the Institute of Gerontology at Wayne State University and offers a self-paced, in-depth education on how to help these patients by integrating mental health practice into occupational therapy with older adults.

Video clips of actual patient/practitioner interactions are interspersed throughout the training, giving students the unique opportunity to see screening tools and treatment approaches in action. Lectures, PowerPoint presentations, expert discussions and a complete resource CD are also included, MiOTA approved. Please see the SAGE website for more information or ordering instructions at www.iog.wayne.edu.
